Complete Guide To Install cycle.travel

Life's too short to ride busy roads! cycle.travel is the app that finds you a route on quiet lanes and traffic-free cycleways.

Turn-by-turn directions and offline maps are 100% free - no need to "go premium". Trusted by thousands as a route-planning website, it's now an app for the first time.

Plan a cross-city commute, an afternoon ride, or a two-month touring holiday. cycle.travel finds your route in seconds to select the quietest, most scenic roads. Put your phone on your handlebars and let cycle.travel guide you.

cycle.travel is 100% independent, developed by one cyclist to plan the sort of routes I love. Become a supporter to help development of the app, and get extra maps such as IGN France and OpenCycleMap!

"Essential for bicycling nomads" - The Guardian. "Fantastic" - Alastair Humphreys, author of Microadventures. "Better than all the other cycling route planners" - Jack Thurston, author of Lost Lanes. "A really good tool that I use a lot" - Will Norman, London's Cycling & Walking Commissioner.

Interface, route priorities and offline capabilities are all great. My only complaint so far is that downloading offline maps defaults to a UK center, rather than my location or where I was making a route, but that's easy to work around and hopefully something that I won't need to interact with too often. Navigation is a huge battery drain, but planning a route and exporting it to OSMand or similar works nicely.

It's an unusual app in that it has no settings function and it basically provides you with the same route as Google maps with no option to toggle for a quieter or faster route etc. Maybe it will get better in time but it is not useful to me right now, but I would encourage anyone to have a look. You can use it without registering and it may be better where you are. I'm in London.

I really love the routing and cartography of this app. It's a great way to find more relaxing routes to get around locally or to explore new places.
